Schwarzkopf Color ULTÎME® 5.22 Ruby Red Permanent Hair Dye

This is the best boxed brand I've ever used. It always gives me a rich, dark black with cool blue undertones that has always been my natural hair color. It leaves my hair very shiny and soft, and covers my greys beautifully. It's very easy to use. I recommend you cover your work surface as this can stain your bathroom countertops and tile floor (a little bleach can clean it up but who needs the hassle??). I tend to use something like a garbage bag to cover my entire surface, and I use a hair dresser's cape to protect my body. A little vasaline around your hairline and ear tips will protect them from getting stained as well. Overall this is a great product which always leaves me with fantastic and lovely results.

This is a very dark color. I was looking for a dark color. I dyed my hair yesterday. I made the mistake of picking the wrong color. This is the black cherry. I have to say I’m not mad about it! I’ve already received a lot of compliments on it. I color my hair all the time myself with pinks, reds, purples and even oranges. This is the first time I have ever gone this dark. I was a natural blonde but as I get older that started to become mousey and of coarse I have grays. (I’m 61) Those colors washed me out now. I made the mistake with the last color to dye with an ask brown color and then the dark color and it didn’t stay because my hair had already been saturated leaving no space for the new color to absorb into the strands. That washed out very quickly. I’m really hoping this lasts for me. I haven’t washed it again yet. If it doesn’t last, it will probably be because of my already dyed hair and then I will bleach it and try again. I won’t blame the dye. So far I am happy with the brand which I have used in the past but I’m not someone who is loyal to just a brand. I try all of them. My hair feels very soft! It smells great! My husband even told me I smelled good. I think he thought I had perfume on. LOL! I say buy it. Try it. Make sure you’ve left enough time from the last dye job to let the color to saturate your hair. I am not a stylist. I do not have a license. I’m just someone getting older who wants to have fun with her hair while she has it and feel younger and pretty. Changing up my hair makes me feel good. Plus it’s fun! It’s just hair. It can be changed. It can also be lost in life. Enjoy it while you have it! Just give it a little love with some TLC hair conditioners here and there. The after conditioner provided with this brand is wonderful! I wish they sold it separately! My pics are in bright light and regular light. Very dark in lower light. Bright in bright light.

Omg so the vintage red is the best cherry cola red! I wanted a cherry cola red which is like a deep burgundy for my roots and mid lengths then black for my ends. I bought the black from the same brand. I used color oops first since my hair was already pink, blue and purple. I bought this because all the semi permanent dyes I used were making my hair strange colors. This permanent dye was the perfect fix. I still had remnants of pink, blue and green (from purple) but the red and black covered it up nicely. No crazy smell and the conditioner it comes with is great! The photo for vintage red makes it look like lipstick red but it’s really cherry cola red. So good! Will buy again!

I don’t usually do box dye but money was low and I needed to dye my hair again. This stuff is pretty great! Didn’t do any damage to my hair. What I liked the most about it was that it doesn’t seem to wash out easily. I have been trying different black dyes forever, they always wash out after the first or second wash and it always leaves my hair looking like crap. I’ve had this dye for about a month maybe longer and it’s only faded a little bit in certain small spots but overall still looks great. My biggest problem is my roots they always turn into this gross puke diarrhea color and it hasn’t happened this time.

I tried this dye in black cherry after my beloved L’Oréal Extreme Dark Red Brown BR1 was discontinued. Overall this is the closest match I can find to my usual color. The product goes on easily and has good gray coverage. My only complaint is that it does fade a little faster than I’d like. I thought it was a little weird that gloves weren’t included since it’s a box dye but it wasn’t a big deal for me since I have plenty on hand from years of using a salon color. I’ll keep hunting for a perfect replacement for my favorite L’Oréal color but this will be my go to color in the meantime.

I was really happy with the Schwarzkopf Color ULTÎME 5.22 Ruby Red! The color came out rich, vibrant, and definitely has that beautiful ruby-red tone I was hoping for. It gave my hair a noticeable boost of color without looking flat or dull. The dye was easy to mix and apply, and I had enough product to get good, even coverage. My hair also felt surprisingly soft and looked shiny afterward, which is always a big plus with permanent color. Just keep in mind that, like most reds, the final shade can vary depending on the color you’re starting with. Overall, though, I really liked the results and would definitely use this shade again when I’m in the mood for a bold, warm red.

I have been using this hair color for years now and it is constantly high quality giving beautiful, long lasting color. I use it over dark brown hair and redo the roots every 8 weeks.

Provided great all over coverage with a beautiful shade of rich black. It looks seamless, glossy, and the conditioner that was included replenished moisture well. Leaving my hair soft, silky, and frizz free. The product was easy to apply, worked quickly, washed out with ease, and I believe is an amazing value for the price point. I would highly recommend it. I've been using this for years and truly love the vibrant color

I usually use garnier or L’Oréal but I find they fade so fast and my hair is back to brown in just a few washes so I tried this. I don’t know how long it’s going to last but so far I love how black it is. Most are a dark brown black but this one is black as midnight which is exactly what I wanted. My hair is smooth and very shiny, even my 8 year old daughter said this one looks really good! I hope it lasts longer than the others. Time will tell! I used the little left over in the bottom of the bottle and put it in my eyebrows with a q tip to match my hair and left it on my brows for 10 mins. They look great, make sure to use Vaseline around your hairline/ears/and around the skin on your brows as it does stain skin pretty heavy.

Loved the colour was very beautiful came quick but unfortunately the package was opened I say on way here and box was damaged but nothing inside it was broken so all was good

I was looking for a good black hair color and I bought this brand based off the good reviews I read about it. And honestly, I have to say, super duper pooper impressed with this dye! First 2 months the colour was so shiny and vibrant, and it's now been 3 months, almost 4, the colour has faded but it's such a pretty colour still, the fade is still nice and shiny and works for me. This brand is awesome for black, had to tell you :)

Good product, does bleed a lot but colour still holds. With this only have to dye my hair once a month instead of twice with other products I have used.
