Learn AI-Assisted Python Programming with GitHub Copilot: With GitHub Copilot and ChatGPT

Since GitHub's release of Copilot in 2021 and especially following the release of ChatGPT in late 2022, it's become clear that the act of programming is no longer what it was. The AI allows programmers to move much more quickly, necessitating a renewed focus on proper program decomposition and effective testing, to allow the human developer to remain in control and fully utilise their newly obtained power. I got this book after listening to a talk by the authors and have been extremely impressed both with their educational approach of utilising Copilot for an introductory course, as well as the way they've accomplished it in the book and the suggested activities within. I can't but help feeling that this is essentially the first book introducing a whole new profession of programming - one whereby even a junior programmer is no longer a "code monkey", but rather almost an engineering manager, being able to abstract away many of the implementation details and focus on the bigger picture of the system. I would highly recommend this book both to learners and to educators, and am eagerly awaiting to see how this novel approach will impact the way that we all think about software development.

AI-assisted Python programming is relatively simple. This book focuses on Copilot, thought other AI processors could be used Code snippets are helpful and the plot starts at 'print 1 to 10' instead of the usual "Hello, Welcome". They compare Assembly code to Python. Had to laugh. Author had the same issue with Assembly that most computer science majors suffer. It's boring and makes not sense. Especially after you try AI-assisted Python programming.

This book a disappointment as frankly YouTube video's now available supercede the contents in this book. As an old school programmer from the era when books were the main information source, this book unfortunately misses the mark.

This is a game changer on how to get introduced to learning the number one computer software language, Python, using artificial intelligence to assist a student learn. Thank you so much for publishing this. It really in an introduction, from an broader perspective, how we all can increase our knowledge via having an AI teaching component. What a fabulous and inclusive resource for our otherwise divided world.
